Take That to the Bank
Lots of things running through my mind as I sit to write this morning. Just this week, I've seen God's hand in so many things. There were three HUGE things I was dealing with, and I gave them to Him in prayer. Finally learning that's the best option, since worrying didn't seem to make any difference. Lol. Boy, if worrying could put money in the bank - I'd be rich for sure. Lol. But since it doesn't, I have to resort to other methods like work - and prayer, of course.
I tried not to think about these three things over the weekend too much, but when they came up in my mind, I'd just pray them back to God. There are so many things that concern caregivers. I think maybe we have far more than average. It's probably at least double since we are caring for another whole person, right? And maybe, in some ways, our prayers and concerns are heavier since our hearts live in a burdened state from carrying so much day after day with no break in sight.
The real value is in learning how to give these concerns to God and actually leave them in His hands. Of course, that is easier said than done. It's such a struggle because, in most situations, we are responsible for everything. Every decision. Every dollar spent. Every trip, every meal, and all the great and not-so-great day-to-days. But we can trust that God is there for us, with us, and in us. And that is something we can take to the bank - God's bank.
I find comfort in knowing that I can run to Him with what others may think is the smallest of small. But I can also run to Him with the large, looming stuff, as well as everything in between. He'll never send me away empty-handed. He won't tell me He doesn't do money, health, or help with choices. He meets me where I am every single time, and His bank is full of the grace, mercy, wisdom, and peace that I need. It's the same every time I go! It never runs out and never overdraws! Lol. (Unlike my bank account. Lol.)
Today, I'll remind myself that God meets me in my now, and He doesn't care what it looks like. His storehouse is always full and available for just what I need - no matter what it is. I love that about God, especially since I need a lot of a lot of different things every single day! I'll think about how He knows my need before I even figure out how to express it in words.. when it's just a sigh...or a tear. He gets it already and meets me with what I need in the moment. That's why I can trust Him for one more day - will you join me?

BOOK OF THE WEEK
Peace Out!
• Did you know God gave us peace and never took it back?
• Do you need a little help refocusing your day?
•Are there really some practical steps to letting God’s peace reign in our hearts?
When the pandemic hit, we were inundated with information and misinformation. I woke up just a day or two into the mass confusion and realized that God’s peace didn’t expire in 2020. What He’d given us was still intact and applicable to our daily lives, chaotic though they may have been. That’s when the Peace Out devotionals began live on Facebook – and continue to today.
This 31-day devotional takes a good look at peace and offers practical application on how to let it reign day after day. The presence of a storm, trial, or tribulation doesn’t negate God’s peace.
