Matching Grace!

Does it ever feel like our work is never really done? Sometimes, I'm so tired, I think my work is tired too. It has to be. We finish one task only to realize there are ten more that need to be done right now! I've come to grips with the fact that I will never actually get done. I just have to get as much done each day as possible, while reminding myself that it is still okay to sit for a cup of tea or coffee from time to time. I wonder if God feels like He's watching the Energizer Bunny... it keeps going and going and going... Lol. (Yes, I dated myself there, didn't I!)

Isn't it a little bit comforting to know that God can match and exceed our energy levels? No matter if we max out our efforts, He's still got more to give. Isaiah 40 reminds us that He never gets tired, He never grows weary. Honestly, I can't imagine that. There's no way to compare our finite being to our glorious infinite God, though, is there?

For my live, Peace Out! devotions on Facebook, I've been looking at 1 Thessalonians this week. Today's lesson (I'll post the video below!) was out of chapter 2. Verse 13 reminds us that God's word continues to effectively work in the believer. As New Testament believers, we know God lives in us. He wrote His word on our hearts. (Jeremiah 31:33 and Hebrews 8:10) But it doesn't just lie there dormant. His word continues to work in us.

There isn't an exclusion for the caregiver. There is not one verse in the Bible that gives us a promise, tells us what we have in Him,  reminds us that He is with us, or anything else that includes an exclusion for caregivers. Isn't that wonderful?

God doesn't overlook us. In fact, His grace is sufficient or enough, no matter how large or heavy our loads become. He has matching grace! There's no limit, or caregivers would be tapping out in round 1! Lol. His word continues to effectively work in all those who believe. Believing is the ONLY stipulation. We simply believe what He said to us and about us. I'm so thankful that the Word wasn't made void by caregiving. Aren't you?

Today, I will remind myself that His word is still working in me. It didn't stop when I became a caregiver. My meditations will be on how I can make my life match the Word, rather than trying to make His Word match my life. I'll think about how He still walks with me, talks with me, cares for me, and works in me, even in adverse circumstances. I'm grateful for all He is, and I am certain I can trust Him with one more day. Will you join me?

I wrote Affirmations for Caregivers because it was what I needed to hear! This 31-day journal includes 31 scripturally based affirmations. Each day, the affirmation is followed by a short writing prompt and a verse or two to read. I also have videos on YouTube that coincide with each day's affirmation.
