Devotionals & Study Guides
I created this page to let you know that I have other resources available. Of course, this blog is dedicated to caregivers. I've been the primary caregiver for my son for about 16 years now, so I get it. I also provide long distance care for my aunt who is in a nearby nursing facility. I try to write a post for caregivers daily, but boy can that be difficult to keep up with. I know that if anyone understands, it's other caregivers.
But I write other things too. As a matter of fact, I have a whole online bookstore that hardly anyone knows about. In the store, you'll find Bible study guides, devotionals, and some poetry books. I'll try to get a few descriptive posts together to tell you more about these books and the ones that are up and coming. Until then, check out the Amazon bookstore.
Here are a a couple of my favorites for you to check out though.
This devotional contains 31 devotionals, all taken from Psalm 31. You may find out the cave isn't a really bad place to be. It comes in eBook and print form. Check out 31 Days in Psalm 31. Get it on Apple Books now, too! 31 Days
This study guide will walk you through the book of I John. It provides thought-provoking questions to help you glean from the deep truths found in this short but powerful letter. Check out the Study of I John.
Peace doesn't mean the absence of a storm or trial - it just means you're at peace with God in the middle of it all. When the pandemic hit, I knew someone had to be the voice of peace - and that's where these Peace Out devotionals started. It's a 31-day journey to find out that peace is really everywhere - we just have to find it and let it reign. Get Peace Out on Apple Books, too!
21 Days is a 21-day devotional that provides short devotions and scripture readings for each day. The goal is to help believers develop the habit of daily Bible reading. In the back of the book, there are suggestions for how to continue maintaining your study time after you finish the book. The devotions are on basic Bible truths like God's love, His grace, peace, and the fruit of the Spirit.
In Affirmations for Caregivers, I just wrote what I needed to hear. Each day for 31 days, there is a short affirmation to read, a verse to read, and a journal prompt requiring a short answer... we don't have time for long ones, right?! Each affirmation is designed specifically for the things caregivers feel and deal with each day.
As caregivers, there are so many things that have to be done every single day. One morning in particular, I was feeling overwhelmed and completely wrung out, and I started praying, asking God to give me some sort of direction. The words "command your mornings and the rest of the day will follow" rang out through my soul. I began doing it first, then I started gathering scriptures about it until I had enough for this devotional. When we are intentional and purposeful in our mornings, it helps the rest of the day line up and follow suit. Check out Command Your Morning! Also Available on Apple Books: CYM Devotional!
